Shirley Uber

Funeral Mass for Shirley Ann (Sullivan) Uber, 77, of Duluth, formerly of Biwabik, will be 10am Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. John O'Donnell as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm, with wake prayers at 6:45pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, MN. Shirley died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Eligius Health Care in Duluth, MN. She was born October 13, 1935 in Woodbury County, Iowa to Maurice and Cecile (Martin) Sullivan. Shirley attended parochial and public schools in Salix, Iowa. On October 10, 1953 she married Glen Uber in Salix, IA. Shirley was a full time homemaker and worked part-time at the Biwabik Variety Store. She was an active volunteer for Operation Santa Claus where she re-furbished dolls and made clothing for them. Shirley was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Biwabik Garden Club and enjoyed morning coffee with the ladies at Alden's Restaurant for many years. Survivors include her children: Linda Marsh of Duluth, Theresa Schufletowski of Duluth and Russell (Penny) Uber of Biwabik; four grandchildren: Elizabeth (Marcia Hayes) Marsh of Madison, WI, John Paul Marsh of Minneapolis, Colleen Marsh of Fargo and Erick Schufletowski of Duluth; sisters: Patty Pauley of Centralia, MO and Arlene Sullivan of Sioux City, IA; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; five brothers and five sisters.
