Wesley A. Hepola

Funeral service for Wesley Alex Hepola, 76, of Eveleth, will be 2pm Friday, August 23, 2013 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Brad Felix officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Eveleth Cemetery. Wesley passed away peacefully Monday, August 19, 2013 in Eveleth surrounded by family following a courageous battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. He was born January 17, 1937 in New York Mills, MN to Alfred and Elvira (Keskinen) Hepola. Wesley served with the US Army and was stationed in Alaska from April 1960 - April 1962. On July 22, 1961 he married Lois Janke in Evergreen, Minnesota. In 1966 they moved to McKinley and resided there for 26 years until moving to Eveleth in 1991. Wesley worked for Stavers Foundry as a molder with 34 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Lois; children: Patty (Stony) Jesperson, Nancy (Darin) Traffie, Susan (Charles) Damson and Tracy Hepola; grandchildren: Ryan, Travis, Jesse, Nicole, Austin, Elizabeth, Alicia, Darin, Dalton and Dustin; brother, Don Hepola; son-in-law, Kevin Jones; brothers-in-law: Marvin Perna and Clarence Janke; sister-in-law, Evelyn Schanus; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda; five brothers; two sisters; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law.
