Funeral Mass for Jean Irene Ebnet, 55, of Mt. Iron will be 11 AM Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle as Celebrant. A visitation will be held 5-7 PM Thursday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and continue one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Ebnet died of natural causes on Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home. Jean was born on May 29, 1958 to Paul and Bernice (Neisen) Ebnet in Fosston, MN. She grew up and attended school in Aurora, graduating from the Aurora High School, Class of 1977. Pursuing her interest in fashion, Jean went back to school to earn a degree in fashion merchandising. Consequently she owned and operated the clothing store, Goldies Too, in Duluth. Jean was also employed by Minntac, retiring after 30 years of service. Jean had volunteered for the Suicide Hotline in Duluth. Jean was proud to sponsor a young girl from a developing country. Jean enjoyed celebrating her favorite holiday, Valentine’s Day and her cat, Ted. Jean will be missed dearly and will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who deeply loved all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by eight siblings: twin sister, Joan (Jack) Johnson of Waseca, MN; Ronald (Susan) Ebnet of Virginia, MN; Rita Erickson of Tennessee; David (JoAnne) Ebnet of Hoyt Lakes; Harold (Carol) Ebnet of Hoyt Lakes; Thomas (Bonnie) Ebnet of Mt. Iron; James (June) Ebnet of Hoyt Lakes; and Carol (Stefan) Olafson of Grand Forks, ND as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bernice; a brother-in-law, Dwayne Erickson; and a great-niece, Morgan Wagner.
