Edward Glatch

Funeral Mass for Edward S. Glatch, 99, of Gilbert, will be 11am Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Edward died Tuesday, October 2, 2013 at St. Raphael's Health and Rehab in Eveleth. The family wishes to thank the wonderful angels at St. Raphael's that took wonderful and loving care of Ed. You are all truly Gods blessings to the people living there. He was born December 5, 1913 in Elcor Location to John and Annie (Dovset) Glach. Edward attended school in Gilbert and later married Angela Zalokar on May 14, 1938 in Gilbert. Ed worked as a grader operator, and was known to many as "Singer", for Corsica, Lake Mine and for Erie Mining Company. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed times spent at the hunting shack reminiscing with friends. Ed especially loved his trips to Alaska visiting with his daughter Shelley, George and three grandkids. Survivors include his grandchildren: Greg Friendshuh, Brad Friendshuh and Sonja (Jerry) Marshall; great grandchildren: Deanna Marshall and Gary (Cassandra) Marshall; great-great grandson, George Marshall; son-in-law, George Friendshuh of Soldotna, AK; nieces: Donna (Dennis) Peterson of rural Gilbert and Barbara Pontinen of Thousand Oaks, CA; nephew, Thomas (Joanne) Glatch of Anoka; brother, Rudolph Glatch of Gilbert. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shelley Friendshuh; wife, Angela; brothers: Anthony, Donald and Joseph; sisters: Mary, Molly, Angie and Ann.
