Memorial service for Charles "Chuck" Henry Inman Sr., 75, of Virginia, will be 1pm Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Charles died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Essentia Health - Duluth, MN. Charles was born Sept. 19, 1938 in Virginia, MN to Forrest and Elizabeth (Friend) Inman. Chuck served with the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Carson, CO and in Germany. Chuck was a long time resident of Biwabik and worked for Erie Mining Company until the lay-off. Following that time, he bartended at various places, settling at Big Al's Bar in Gilbert. His passion was gardening with his long time friend, Stanley. He also liked to take road trips and Sunday drives. He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed dice, pull tabs and scratch offs, even tho he never won the big ones. Chuck was a collector, especially of coins. He was well known by many, liked to visit and was a social nut. Survivors include his children: Laurie Turner of Iron, MN, Charles (Dody) Inman Jr. of Biwabik and Lisa (Paul Mattila) Inman of Virginia; grandchildren: Lyndsey (Luke), Susan, Stephanie, Robert, Robert, Catherine and William; great grandchildren: Landon, Milana and August; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to two special nieces, Charlene and Mary Ann. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Elizabeth; brothers: Forrest, Edward and a brother in infancy; sisters: Irene and Geraldine; ex-wife/friend, Susan (Turner) Inman.
