Viola Marie Barry

Funeral Mass for Viola Marie Barry, 80, of Aurora, will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as Celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Viola died peacefully Friday, November 22, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 21, 1933 in Hibbing, MN to Fred and Anna (Demuth) Yahrmatter. Following her schooling, she married John P. Barry and celebrated 48 years of marriage with him. Viola worked as an accountant for Island Farm Creamery in Hibbing for nearly 20 years. She was a homemaker and an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women which she served 40 years on the funeral committee. In her earlier years she enjoyed figure skating and was awarded a bronze medal in pair dancing, downhill skiing, and cherished her dogs. Viola applied her passion for skating in teaching power skating to children in the Youth Hockey program. She is survived by her husband, John; children: Kevin Barry of Roseau, Keith (Rosemary) Barry of Roseau and John (Michelle) Barry of Duluth; grandchildren: Amasta, Hannah, Holly, Billy and TJ; brother, Ray (Joan) Yahrmatter of Hibbing; sister-in-law, Anna Yahrmatter of Hibbing; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Fred "Fritz" and Larry (Donna) Yahrmatter.
