Jack L. Yost

A gathering of family and friends of Jack Lambert Yost, 67, of Gilbert, will be 5-7pm Thursday January 16, 2014 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Jack died Wednesday January 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio. Jack was a 1964 graduate of Aurora High School and later joined the US Marines, serving in Vietnam. In 1971 he began working for the St. Louis County Sheriffs Department and through the years rose thru the ranks. He retired in 2001 as supervising deputy sheriff in the Virginia office with 30 years of service. During that time he graduated from the FBI National Academy. Jack was a member of the Air National Guard in Duluth. He especially enjoyed wintering in Florida where he had a passion for sailing, and spending summers at Lake Vermilion. Survivors include his sons: Chad (Caroline Jackson) Yost of Tucson, AZ and Dan (Monica) Yost of Minneapolis; granddaughters: Lola and Chloe; former wife, Connie Yost of Sartell. He is preceded in death by is parents and a sister, Lanah Blevins.
