James A. Truman

Funeral service for James A. Truman, 66, of Aurora, will be 10am Wednesday. January 15, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Aurora with Pastor Brendan Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. James died Thursday January 9, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born October 2, 1947 in Biwabik, MN to Roy and Ann (Fortuna) Truman. He was a 1965 graduate of Aurora High School and later served with the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. On February 8, 1969 he married Sharon Salveson. James worked for Erie Mining Company and retired from LTV Steel as a locomotive mechanic. Survivors include his children: Jim (Sally) Truman of Aurora, Tammy (Chris) Davey of Elk River and Jolene (Dan) Aho of Otsego; grandchildren: Braden, Matthew, Megan and Sharilyn; siblings: Judith (Frank) Omersa of Gilbert, Don (Laura) Truman of Hoyt Lakes, Dale (Maribeth) Truman of Eveleth and Gene (Emily) Truman of California; special daughters: Amanda (Lance) Johnson and Kathy (Steve) Hatfield; special grandchildren: Jack Johnson and Becca and Trey Hatfield; several nieces and nephews; constant companion and beloved dog, Jasper. James is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sharon.
