Funeral service for Michael John Guritz, 66, of Hibbing, will be 10:30am Monday, February 17, 2014 at Northstar Church (formerly St. Mary's Catholic Church) 108 N. 1st Ave., Keewatin with Pastors Tim Maki and Steve Tomberlin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. Michael died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence in Hibbing. He was born June 22, 1947 in Albert Lea, MN to John and Edith (Lysne) Guritz. Mike was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School in Brainerd and later graduated from Dunwoody Institute with a certificate in Baking. In 2004 he graduated from Oak Hills Christian College with a Bachelors degree. On January 21, 1978 he married Wanda Fritsche. Mike worked in the baking industry for 35 years at several in-store bakery's and small shops. He also worked as a truck driver and was a floral delivery driver. Mike attended Northstar Church in Hibbing and especially enjoyed motorcycling and bicycling. Survivors include his children: Sarah (Brian) Stahl of Embarrass and Anthony Guritz of Hermantown; granddaughter, Natalie Stahl; former wife, Wanda Fritsche of Chisholm; brother, Greg (Melinda) Guritz of Dunlop, CA; aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents.
