Kelly L. Barcus

A gathering of family and friends of Kelly Lynn Barcus, 59, of Hibbing, will be held from 4:30-7:30pm Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Hibbing Park Hotel in Hibbing, MN. Funeral arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. Kelly died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Essentia Health - St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. He was born June 21, 1954 in rural Bovey, MN to Leon and Wilma (Hawk) Barcus. Following high school, he served with the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. On November 3, 1978 he married Marilyn Braun in Hibbing. Following his military discharge, he worked for MinnTac until February 1982. In 1984 he attended Hibbing VoTech and was in the construction maintenance program until 1986. Kelly worked for Reptron as an assembly line technician for several years. Kelly was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed summer and winter fishing, hunting and trapping. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Hibbing; children: Lora (Bernie Knutson) Barcus of Britt and Danny (Lisa) Barcus of Side Lake; grandchild, Brycen; father, Leon Barcus of Bovey; siblings: Dale (Marian) Barcus of Grand Rapids, Diane (Ben) Foust of rural Bovey and Ken Barcus of Hibbing; several nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma.
