Shawn P. Howes

Memorial service for Shawn P. Howes, 54, of Hibbing, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Friday, March 21, 2014 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle officiating.  Friends may gather one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will follow at the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.   Shawn died suddenly Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Fairview Mesabi in Hibbing, MN.   He was born October 5, 1959 in Virginia, MN to Donald and Margaret (Schommer) Howes. Shawn was a graduate of Aurora/Hoyt Lakes High School.  He worked in the health care industry for several years and recently worked for the sewing factory in Chisholm. He wasa perfectionist in everything he did. Shawn loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed a good crime show, golf tournaments, gardening, cooking, and most of all, being a father.   Survivors include his daughter, Lindsey Thuringer of Hoyt Lakes; parents, Donald and Margaret Howes of Hoyt Lakes; siblings: Scott (Cathy) Howes, Dawn (Michael) Kennedy, Shelly (Joseph) Dahmen, Beth (Jeff Chapman) Lincoln and Mary (Donald Huntley) Henry; several nieces and nephews.
