Funeral service for Robert(Bob) Lawrence Houdek, 53, of Buhl, will be 6:30pm Friday, March 21, 2014 at Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley. Pastors Michael Wefel, Randy Zemple and Dennis Rokser will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Bob died suddenly Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born August 11, 1960 in Virginia, MN to Lawrence and Carol (Albright) Houdek. Bob was a 1978 graduate of Aurora/Hoyt Lakes High School, he received a 2 year technical Degree in industrial instrumentation at the Eveleth Vo-tech and later married Sharrie Line on June 20, 1980 in Virginia, MN. Bob worked for Honeywell for 17 years prior to working 12 years for Minnesota Power as an instrument technician specialist. Currently he was employed by Hibbing Taconite as a CEM's operator. Bob's favorite pastime was doing work of any kind. He especially enjoyed remodeling classic cars and remodeling homes. He was a member of Duluth Bible Church and currently attended Heritage Trail Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Sharrie; sons: William Houdek of Biwabik, Nathan (Jarin) Houdek of Mt. Iron, Joseph Houdek of Buhl and Christopher (Abi) Houdek of Duluth; parents, Lawrence and Carol Houdek of Aurora; grandchildren: Livia and Grayson; siblings: Scott (Pam) Houdek of Tiffin, IA, Mary (John) Haw of Milaca, Kim (Paul) Batsche of Anoka and Randy (Diane) Houdek of Hoyt Lakes; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents and Mother-in-Law.
