Funeral service for Jeanne Ella Johnson, 81 of Superior, WI will be 10 am Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Donald Norr officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home and continue one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Raphael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth. Jeanne was born on April 15, 1932 to Frederick and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (Fischer) Beetcher in Superior.   She grew up and attended school in Superior. Following school she was united in marriage to Lane Johnson on Feb. 17, 1951. The couple made their home in Babbitt. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Babbitt and most recently the Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia. Jeanne enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Gilbert.   Jeanne will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children: Lori (Edgar) Gonzalez of Creston, OH, Michael (Terry) Johnson of Virginia, and Jacalyn Johnson and her son, Mark Andres Jr. of Virginia; 12 grandchildren: Johnny (Billie) Busha of Keewatin, Rachelle (Steve) Grover of Big Fork, MN, Leslie (Jared) Lance of Creston, OH, Sara (Blake) Cox of Murfreesboro, TN, Anthony (Rachel) Gonzalez of Orville, OH, Katie (Shaun) Massie of Ashland, OH, Hannah Gonzalez of Medina, OH, Michael (Sarah) Johnson of Virginia, Mallory (Dale Hartshorn) Johnson of Ely, Austin Pernu and Angjelika Carlson and Mark Andres, Jr. all of Virginia;22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her two children, Carolyn Busha and James Henry Johnson; her husband, Lane, nine siblings, and her parents.
