Memorial service for Lesa Marie (Abernathey) Moren, 53, of Hoyt Lakes will be 6:30 pm Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley. Pastors Michael Wefel and Dennis Rokser will be officiating. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Coleraine Cemetery alongside her brother, Mark at a later date. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Lesa died Monday, April 14, 2014 at University of Minnesota Health in Minneapolis. Lesa was a Christian and went home to her Lord and Savior. Lesa was passionate about furthering knowledge in medicine; therefore donated her body to the University of Minnesota Medical School. She was born on October 21, 1960 to Guy and Berta (Buck) Abernathey in Cedar Rapids, IA. She grew up in California and Cedar Rapids, IA. She previously owned and operated the Birds Nest Restaurant in Eveleth. Lesa was united in marriage to John Moren on 11-11-11 at 11:11 pm. Lesa will be remembered as a hard worker who loved her family deeply. Survivors include her husband, John Moren of Canyon and Hoyt Lakes; her four sons, Christopher Dronebarger of Eveleth, Josah (Kira) Dronebarger of Virginia, Nathan Dronebarger of Eveleth, and Jeris Dronebarger of Cedar Rapids, IA; five grandchildren, Evan, Mason, Connor, Christian, and Kierra; her parents, Guy and Berta Abernathey of Bovey, MN; three brothers, Scott, Kent and Clint Abernathey; and a sister, Bethel Abernathey; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark in 2002.
