Margaret "Peg" Prosen

Funeral Mass for Margaret “Peg” Prosen, 93, of Eveleth, formerly of Gilbert, will be 1:30pm Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7pm with recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery.   Margaret was born June 26, 1920 in Elcor, Minnesota to John & Sidonia (Kantor )Faith. She attended school in Elcor & Gilbert and graduated in 1938. She attended St. Scholastica and graduated with a B.S. Degree from Duluth Teacher’s College and later taught School in Deer River and Gilbert.   Margaret married Robert J Prosen of Gilbert on Jan. 6, 1944. They lived in Gilbert, Duluth and Coleraine until 1992. Most recently they lived in Mountain Iron and Eveleth.   She was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert. She began singing in church choirs at age 15 and continued to sing in church until she was 87 years old. Margaret was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girls Scout Leader, Choir Director as well as choir member, Member of KSKJ, St Joseph’s Funeral Choir, CCD teacher, Past president PTA, Third Order of the Carmelites and the Rosary Makers of Mary. She served as Past President and Treasurer of CCW for 20 years.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J.; her parents, John & Sidonia Faith; sisters: Sister Amelia Faith OSB, Sister Marian Faith OSB, and Anna Rose McQuaid; brothers: John Faith, Victor Faith and Fr. Rudolph Faith   Survivors include her sons: Robert L. (Clyda) – Eveleth, Thomas J. (Diane) – Gilbert, Michael J (Lana) – Hot Springs, AR, Dennis E (Renee) Foster City, CA, Patrick G. (Michelle) - Apple Valley MN, Peter A (Kim) – Windsor, WI.; daughters: Kathleen F. (Randall) Lindquist - Sioux Falls, SD and Elizabeth M. (Bruce) Smidt – Sioux Falls, SD.; 20 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Richardson- Mpls. MN.
