Graveside service for Emma Louise Hanson, 95, of Duluth, formerly of Aurora will be held 10 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Emma’s family requests that any memorials be made to a favorite charity. Emma died peacefully on May 10, 2014 at Essentia Health - St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. Mrs. Hanson was born on September 10, 1918 to Anton and Mary Hodnik in Aurora, Minnesota. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1936 where she played the viola in the school orchestra. Mrs. Hanson was retired from the Norwest Bank in Virginia in 1984. Mrs. Hanson is survived by her three sons, Dr. Bruce J. (Linda) Hanson of Columbus, MS; C. P. (Mary) Hanson of Cedarburg, WI; and Paul A. (Ellen) Hanson of Duluth. She is also survived by her grandson, John W. Hanson, of Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis, Anton, Frank, and Ralph Hodnik; by her sisters Mary Miller, of Milwaukee and Anna Hodnik; and by her grandson Jay Hanson.
