A time of remembrance for Arthur Albert Lesar, 95, of Aurora, will be 1:30pm Friday, May 16, 2014 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm. Burial with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora, MN. Mr. Lesar died Monday, May 12, 2014 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora. Arthur was born June 10, 1918 in Aurora, MN to Vincent and Agnes (Francel) Lesar. He was a 1936 graduate of Aurora High School. Art worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp Camps prior to working for Skubic Brothers on the construction of the Al-Can Highway. Art was a US Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Following his military service, he returned home to work for Skubic Brothers and various mining companies. He retired from Erie Mining Company as a shop foreman. Art was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his sister, Emma Olson of Esko, MN; brother, Milan Lesar of Aurora and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Agnes; and his siblings: Agnes, Vincent, Frank, Frances, William, Edward, Fred and Maggie.
