Julia A. Plesha

Memorial Mass for Julia A. Plesha, 96, of Gilbert, will be 10:30am Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Friends may gather one hour prior to the mass at church. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Julia died Friday, May 30, 2014 at Essentia - Virginia Care Center in Virginia, MN. She was born March 21, 1918 in Pineville, MN to Geron and Katherine Krize. Julia was a graduate of Biwabik High School and later married Michael Plesha Sr. Julia was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed curling, baking apple and cheese strudels and making poticas. Survivors include her children: Janice Scuffy of Ely Lake, Betty Lou Botta of Kankakee, Illinois, Judy (Charlie Crotty) Jason of Marquette, Michigan and Michael (Sheri) Plesha of Bass Lake; Eleven Grandchildren; Nineteen Great Grandchildren; Three great-great grandchildren; special friend, Gordon Domiano of Gilbert and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Geron and Katherine; husband, Michael; several brothers and sisters; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; one son-in-law.
