Mrs. Ipavec died Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Michael's Health and Rehab in Virginia, MN. Mildred was born April 7, 1918 in Elcor Location, Minnesota to Matt and Milka (Zoretich) Mahovlich, the sixth of nine children. She was a 1936 graduate of Gilbert High School and married Frank Ranzoni later that year. Frank died in 1957. On November 30, 1963 she married Ludwig Ipavec and shared over 50 years together. Mildred worked for the Gilbert Co-op Store and later worked for National Tea (currently the Eveleth IGA) in the meat department. She retired from there in 1980. Ludwig and Mildred moved to Edgewood Vista in Virginia in 2010 and later to St. Michael's in Virginia. Lud and Millie enjoyed traveling, listening to ethnic music but especially enjoyed dancing. She was a Charter Member of the Gilbert VFW Auxiliary, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the SNPJ Lodge and the International Meat packers Union. Millie was a good friend and neighbor with a kind and generous spirit and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Milka; husbands, Frank and Ludwig; sisters: Kathryn Orlando, Ann Krmpotich and Helen Zallar; brothers: Steve, Matt, John, Charlie and Frank; one nephew and a great niece. The family and friends wish to commend St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation for their great care of our beloved Millie the past few years.
