Funeral Mass for Jolene D. Nordland, 73, of Gilbert, will be 10am Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and will also be for one hour prior to the mass at church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Jolene died Monday, July 14, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 18, 1941 in Bemidji, MN to Herbert and Dolores (Puschinsky) Helf. Jolene attended schools in Bemidji and Virginia, MN. Later, she married Paul Nordland in Cotton, MN on April 4, 1959. Jolene and her husband owned and operated the Gilbert Laundromat for many years. She was also a long-time Avon sales representative, waitress and bartender. Jolene was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Gilbert Ridge Riders and the Stitch-n-Bitch Craft Club. Survivors include her children: JoDell McNiel of Gilbert, William Nordland of Arizona and Jack Nordland of Buhl; grandchildren: Jessica, Chad, Crystal, Dustin, Geoffrey and Amanda; great grandchildren, Zoey and Tyler; siblings: Daniel (Carol) Helf of Hoyt Lakes, Diane Lasky of Virginia, Sandra (Bob) Payne of Indiana, Joe (Sandy) Helf of Virginia and Dave Helf of Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; sisters, Kay Taylor and Cindy Schoultz.
