A gathering of family and friends for Bonnie Johnson, 55, of Aurora will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Bonita “Bonnie” Lynn Johnson died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Essentia Health Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora. She was born on August 3, 1959 to Lloyd and Dorothy (Helgerson) Rewertz in Virginia, MN. She grew up in Aurora attending the Aurora - Hoyt Lakes High School. Besides being a dedicated homemaker, Bonnie was a gifted artist, especially in the crafts of intarsia and crocheting. She also enjoyed flower gardening and cleaning out estates and having estate sales with her husband, Donald. Bonnie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Donald; one daughter, April Root (Travis) Mattson of Aurora; three grandchildren: Hannah, Cameron, and Trigg Mattson; her mother, Dorothy Bell of Hibbing; four siblings: Larry (Ella) Rewertz of Palo, Debbie (Don) Tennison of Baxter, MN, Mark Rewertz of Aurora, and Laurel Martin of Hibbing; sister-in-law: Nancy Rewertz of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend: Bobbi Hanson of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Rewertz; three brothers: Thomas, John, and Michael Rewertz; a nephew: Luke Tennison; and a sister-in-law: Joyce Rewertz
