David J. Brown

A gathering of family and friends for David James Brown, 54, of Gilbert will be held from 10 am -12 pm Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. David Brown died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his home. He was born to Henry and Mary Lou (Stupca) Brown on September 10, 1959 in Virginia. He grew up and attended school in Gilbert, graduating from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1978. Following school he attended Mesabi Community College. David was an independent soul and created his own path through life. He is remembered for his wonderfully dry sense of humor and being an original thinker. He enjoyed reading and being outdoors at the hunting shack. David also enjoyed road trips and the trips he and his father, Henry shared. David had an affinity for the love of animals. He especially enjoyed all this nieces and nephews and their children. Survivors include: his father, Henry; three sisters: Susan (Bob) Stark of Maplewood, Sandra Pavlin of Big Lake, MN, and Sharon (Andrew) Aleckson of Minneapolis; niece and nephew: Laurie and William Schubert; great nephews and niece: Curtis, Jayden, and Alexa Schubert; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou (Stupca) Brown and his grandparents.
