Memorial service for Richard Allan Fuglie, 69, of Nevis, formerly of Biwabik, will be 10:30am Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik with Pastor Paul VanAntwerp officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Eveleth Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Richard died suddenly Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora, MN. He was born May 26, 1945 in Moorhead, MN to Allan and Genella Fuglie. Richard graduated from Biwabik High School and later attended North Dakota state University for pharmacy. On November 1, 1969 he married Beverly Ann Blaske. She died on June 13, 1992. Richard worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired from Local Union #49 as a friction crane operator. He also co-owned and operated BMP&K machine shop in Eveleth. On April 25, 1994 he married Ardelle Mickelson in Anchorage, AK. Richard was a pilot and enjoyed fishing in his earlier years. Most recently he especially enjoyed a good game of golf. He and Ardelle wintered in Casa Grande, AZ for the past several years. Richard was a member of the Casa Grande Elks Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Virginia. Survivors include his wife, Ardelle; mother, Genella; children: Matthias (Christine) Tanch, Amy (Duane) Childs, Katherine (Brian) Crowe, Michelle (Joe) Cramer, Sheryl Ann Beckmann and Robert (Steve Adams) Mickelson Jr.; grandchildren: Alexander and Verena Tanch, Justin and Elizabeth Childs, Mishale and Tyler Crowe, Nikole (Jay) Anderson and their children, Madyson, Colin, Aydan and Lauren, Jakob (Emily) Mount and their children, Grace, Haley and Isaac, Samantha (Rishi) Colai and their children, Owen and Lillian Michelle, Domonik Cramer, Annabelle Cramer, Alexander Mickelson Adams, Nickolas Mickelson Adams and Zachary Beckman; siblings: Karen Fuglie, Dwight (Gerry) Fuglie and Paul (Deb) Fuglie; sister-in-law, Linda (Rance) McKenna; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Allan.
