Dorla M Roos

Memorial service for Dorla Mae Roos, 84, of Makinen, will be 10am Saturday January 3, 2014 at Palo Congregational Church with Pastor Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Watson Cemetery in Fillmore, County, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Dorla died Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Chestnut Grove in Virginia, Minnesota. Dorla was born April 18, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Arthur and Lucille (Jopling) Snow. She attended South High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan and on June 19, 1948 she married LeRoy Roos. Dorla worked as a nurses aide at the Virginia Regional Medical Center and as a teachers aide at the Makinen School. She was also a homemaker and devoted member of Palo Congregational Church. In her earlier years, she was a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed sewing; especially stuffed animals for volunteer groups. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, LeRoy; children: LeRoy Jr. (Sharon) of Iron, Jann0 (Jesse) Hernandez of Virginia, Jill Ersbo of Mt. Iron, Randy (Roberta) of Cherry, Robert of Chester, MN, Dick (Michelle) of Eyota, MN and Sally (Michael) Hunter of Tower; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Donna Bailey of Rockford, Mich., numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jon; sisters: Lois Rounds and Norma Snow; brother, Gerald. Dorla’s family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent care given to her over the years by the staff of Chestnut Grove.
