William Akey

A Celebration of Life Service for William David Akey, 56, of Biwabik, will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. William died surrounded by family on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his home. William spent several years working as a paraprofessional for the Northland Learning Center and was loved by his special needs students. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar and had a soft spot in his heart for animals. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; mother, Yvonne (Ole) Akey of Las Vegas; siblings: Debra (Keith) Carlson of Barnum, Sheree (Robert) Swanson of Biwabik and Chris (Pamela) Akey of Las Vegas; grandmother, Helen Akey of Eveleth, best friend, John (Karen) Hewett of Gilbert and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins survive. He is preceded in death by his father, William G. Akey.
