Funeral service for Carrol “Corpy” Melvin Storbeck, 84, of Aurora, will be 11am Monday, January 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Aurora with Pastor Roger Inouye officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00-5:00pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. Carrol died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN. He was born February 14, 1930 in Lake Park, MN to Mikkel and Carrie (Smebak) Storbeck. Carrol joined the US Navy in 1951 and served on the USS Cascade during the Korean Conflict. Carrol worked as a locomotive mechanic at Erie Mining Company. He retired from LTV Steel in 1992 with 34 years of service. Carrol’s hobbies included: working concessions on the Pop-a-Long ice cream truck, fishing, bowling, camping and four wheeling. He especially enjoyed watching sports events of his kids and grandkids. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Belva Sutton Storbeck; children: Curtis (Wendi) Storbeck, Robin (Mike) Lenarz, Kristen (Karl) Anderbeck and Angela (Travis) Reimer; grandchildren: Austin, Brooke, Cierra and Destiny Storbeck, Jacqueline and Kasey Lenarz, Jemma and Tor Anderbeck, and Lexi and Kayla Reimer; sister-in-law, Arla Storbeck. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mikkel Storbeck and Carrie Lunde; sisters: Martha Skansgaard and Marie Rishovd and a brother, Erling Storbeck.
