Mass of Christian Burial for Anne M. Orazem, 95, of Aurora will be 10 am Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Anne died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Essentia Health Northern Pines in Aurora from complications of pneumonia. She was born on July 24, 1919 to Matt and Mary (Kasteltz) Kolak in Buhl, MN. She grew up and attended school in Keewatin. Anne was united in marriage to Anthony J. Orazem on June 24, 1938 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora. The couple made their home in Aurora where Anne resided for over 70 years. Anne was a dedicated homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother taking great pride in her home and family. Anne was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora, having served on the CCW and the Assumption Group of which she was a charter member. She was also a member of the Slovenian Union of America and served as Reporter for the Zarja, President of local branch 35 and State Vice President and Delegate at their National Convention in San Francisco. Anne was chosen as an original pioneer for the Aurora's Centennial Dedication. She was also a member of the All Slav Club, KSKJ, American Legion Auxiliary of Aurora, and Happy Quilters. Anne worked with her husband Tony on the Grape Festival and they were charter members of the Laurentian Dance Club. She loved to travel to visit family and friends as well as went on several trips with organizations she belonged to. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and was a wonderful cook, baker and seamstress. Survivors include four children: Suzanne (Richard) Williams of Gaylord, MI, Anthony “Tony - O” Orazem of Eagles Nest Township, MN, Paul (Linda) Orazem of Isle, MN, and Kathleen Wheeler of Chanhassen, MN; six grandchildren: Mark (Sandi) Williams of Emmett, MI, Paul (Molly) Williams of Caledonia, MI, Joseph Orazem of Isle, MN, Robert (Lynn) Orazem of Isle, MN, James and David (fiancé, Maianne Preble) Wheeler both of Minneapolis; seven great-grandchildren: Tate, Rainy, Lillian, Brooklyn, and Anne Orazem, Steven and Braxton Williams; two sisters: Barbara Urick of Aurora and Francine Stellmach of Babbitt; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony"; brother, John Kolak; sisters, Martha Gunderson and Katherine Goedderz; son-in-law, Robert Wheeler; granddaughter, Nancy Williams; and her parents, Matt and Mary Kolak.
