Mildred A. Bernik

Funeral Mass for Mildred A. Bernik, 93, of Aurora, will be 11:00am – Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora, MN. Mildred died Monday, March 23, 2015 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora, MN. She was born August 11, 1921 in Amasa, Michigan to Edward and Anna Smith. Following her schooling she worked for Curtis Candy and Western Electric in Chicago, Illinois. She married Edward Bernik Sr. and celebrated 62 years of marriage together. In the mid 1940’s they moved to Aurora where she provided daycare for many children and families. Mildred was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Yugoslav Club, the SNPJ Lodge and the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her son, Edward Bernik Jr. of Aurora; daughter, JoAnn (Steve) Jasperson of Aurora; grandchildren: Stacey Jasperson of Aurora, Stephanie (Jason Aagenes) Jasperson of Hermantown; Jill Jasperson of of Minneapolis and Jenna (Dave) Montgomery of Baltimore, MD; great grandchildren: Austin Lupich, Alexa Aagenes, Hailey Aagenes and Mason Montgomery; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Sr.; son, Robert and thirteen brothers and sisters.
