Funeral service for Barbara Lee Kohler, 63, of Biwabik Township, will be 10am Monday, April 27, 2015 at United In Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth with Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Biwabik Township Cemetery. Barbara died at home peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was born June 22, 1951 in Princeton, MN to Leonard and Illene (Gilbertson) George. Barb was a 1969 graduate of Gilbert High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Craig Kohler on December 2, 1972 in Aurora. Barb worked retail for Target Corp. in Eagan, Minnesota, retiring from there with 20 years of service. She was a member of United In Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing. She was known to many as “Auntie Barb” and was always giving of her time and talents to others. Birthdays of others were always remembered and time was always enjoyed spent with the grandkids, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include her husband, Craig; sons: Bradley (Jennifer) of Gilbert and Jesse (Gabriela) of South Lake Tahoe; grandchildren: Jacob Witt and Silas and Nicolas Kohler; siblings: Russell (Jane) George of Hutter, Carol (Mike) Carlson of Rhinelander, WI, Leon George of Gilbert and Dave (Cindy) George of Hutter; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jean Ann.
