Funeral service for Lois V. Pelto, 80, of Palo will be 11 am Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley with Pastor Michael Wefel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in in the Rauha Cemetery in Palo. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Lois died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Essentia Health – Virginia Care Center. She was born on June 8, 1934 to Verner and Lydia (Lakela) Heikkila in Lakeland, MN. Lois was a homemaker, an Avon representative, and a cook for her church’s bible camp on Lake Esquagama for many years. She was a member of the Heritage Trail Bible Church in McKinley. Lois trusted in Jesus Christ’s work on the cross many years ago, and is in heaven now because of what He did for her. Survivors include her daughter: Linda (Chuck) Schanno of rural Virginia; two sons: Leonard Pelto of Palo and Keith (Kelly) Pelto of Markham; four grandsons: Kerry Schanno of Bloomington, MN, Jason (Stephanie) Schanno of St. Louis Park, MN, Jesse Schanno of rural Virginia, and Arne W. Pelto II of Minneapolis; one brother, Bob (Carol) Brunfelt of Marine-on-St. Croix, MN; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arne; parents, Verner and Lydia Heikkila; and uncles Joseph and Wayne Lakela. Lois’s family would like to thank the Virginia Care Center staff for their kindness and personal attention shown to Lois during her stay there.
