Funeral service for Russell LeRoy Willett, 63, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 1pm Friday, July 10, 2015 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle and Pastor Michael Towers officiating. Visitation will be today from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Russell died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1951 in Brainerd, MN to Laurence and Janine (Morison) Willett. He was a 1970 graduate of Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and worked as a truck driver in the construction industry for many years. He was also employed at Partridge River for twelve years where he served as union steward. On June 30, 1990 he married Joan McNulty in Ironton, MN. Russell was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Joan; mother, Janine Willett of Ironton; siblings: Bruce (Kayla) of Malta, MT and Mark (Barb) of Hoyt Lakes; daughter, Colleen Rytty; step-daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Trapp; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, Laurence.
