Funeral service for JoAnn A. Trangsrud, 78, of Embarrass will be 10 am Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Hope Lutheran Church in Embarrass with Pastor LeRoy Holmes officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Embarrass Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. JoAnn passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 comfortably and peacefully at the place she loved most, her home, with her family by her side. JoAnn was born on October 19, 1936 in Roseau, MN to Earl and Edith (Dahl) Solberg. She grew up and attended school in Badger, graduating from the Badger High School Class of 1954. On June 4, 1955 JoAnn married the love of her life, Emery Trangsrud. The couple reached a milestone of 60 years together. They lived briefly in Four Buttes, MT and Badger, MN before making their home in Embarrass. She was the proud mother of her four children: Mark, Bradley, Kelly, and Julie. JoAnn had been employed at the Greenbush, MN Hospital prior to moving to Embarrass where she worked at the White Community Hospital in Aurora until her retirement. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Hoyt Lakes. JoAnn enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, dancing and music. Mostly JoAnn loved her family and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Emery; children: Mark Trangsrud of Olympia, WA, Bradley (Sue) Trangsrud of Embarrass, Kelly Trangsrud of Roseau, MN and Julie Trangsrud of Sanford, FL; six grandchildren: Carrie, Sarah, Donovan, Andrew, Katie, and Emily; seven great-grandchildren: Mariah, Dillon, Breydon, Jacob, Tanner, Annabelle, and Colin; two grand puppies: Spud and Dudley; one brother: Ronnie Solberg of Thief River Falls, MN and sister Shirley Scott of CA; and many other relatives; She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Edith Solberg; brothers, Gene and Arlyn Solberg; brothers-in-law: Marvin Trangsrud and Robert Scott; nephews, Dallas Trangsrud and Mike Solberg; great-niece, Nora Munstenteiger; and several other relatives.
