Margaret Wandrus

March 30, 1920 — August 31, 2015

Memorial service for Margaret E. Wandrus, 95, of Aurora will be 11 am Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Brendan Johnston officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Contented Critters. Margaret died Monday, August 31, 2015 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora where she resided for three years and received wonderful care. She was born on March 30, 1920 to William and Ida (Hawkinson) Mattson in Stark, MN. Margaret graduated from North Branch High School, Class of 1938. Following school she met and married Samuel Samuelson. The couple had seven children together and were married for twenty five years until Samuel’s death. Later, Margaret married Donald Wandrus. She had been a homemaker and was employed by the East Range Shopper for many years. Margaret was an avid reader. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts and an occasional game of BINGO. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Aurora. Survivors include her children: Patricia (Bernard) Keppel, Dale (Kathy) Samuelson, Jeanne (Jay Gilbertson) Samuelson, Melanie McPeek, Linda Rae, and John (Eileen) Samuelson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother: James Mattson; two nephews and one niece: Darrell (Denise) Mattson, Beverly (Martin) Zachrison, and Phillip (Tanya) Mattson; and her beloved cat: Missy. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Samuel Samuelson and Donald Wandrus; her son, Gary Samuelson; three siblings: Morris and Chester Mattson and Adeline Falk.
