Memorial Mass of Michael Paul Ebnet, 38, of Woodbury, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11 am Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle Celebrant. A visitation will be from 1-4 pm Sunday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Michael died September 10, 2015 at his home in Woodbury. He was born on September 6, 1977 to Caroline (Polich) and Harold Ebnet in Virginia. He grew up in Hoyt Lakes and graduated from Mesabi East High School, Class of 1996. Following high school, Mike entered the MN Army National Guard as a calvary scout. He attended Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis where he had studied to be an electrician. Following Dunwoody, Mike worked as a journeyman electrician for Burnsville Electric, AMPTEK, Parsons, and Mining Resources while being a member of the IBEW Local #110. Mike poured his entire heart and soul into his many passions which included traveling, cooking, snowboarding, and motorcross. Mike’s optimism, work ethic, and positive outlook was an inspiration to anyone who knew him. He lived life to the fullest, fearlessly; and will be remembered as the “Fun Uncle”. Survivors include his parents: Harold and Carol Ebnet of Hoyt Lakes; the love of his life of whom he was engaged: Julie Roorda; siblings: Anthony Ebnet of Gilbert, Stephanie (Derek) Moe of Virginia, Jonathan (Carissa) Ebnet of Mt. Iron, and Vincent Ebnet of Eveleth; nieces and nephews: Anastasia, Anthony Jr., Alexander (Mike’s Godson), Aric, and Nadine Ebnet; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends: especially his lifelong buddies from the class of ’96.; special sister-in-law: Michelle; and his beloved dog, Gunnar. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul and Bernice Ebnet and John and Nada Polich; aunt: Jean Ebnet; uncles: Karl Namtvedt, Dwayne Erickson, and Frank Polich; and baby cousin: Morgan Wagner.
