Veronica "Booty" Lageson

Funeral service for Veronica M. “Booty” Lageson, 82, of Biwabik will be 1 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik with Pastor John Szarke officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik at a later date. Mrs. Lageson died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Michael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. Booty was born on April 17, 1933 to Oscar and Melitta (Meyer) Leonhardt in Manitowoc, WI. Following school, she was employed by the DeCalb Seed Company and SEARS where she met the love of her life, Luther “Luke” Lageson or “Lue” as Booty would call him. The couple was united in marriage on May 23, 1953 in Shakopee, MN. Together, she and Luke raised six children. She is remembered as a “Super Mom”. Her children recall always having a hot, homemade meal ready for them, which was a difficult task with six kids all coming and going with busy school and sports schedules. Booty enjoyed life to the fullest. Holidays were important to Booty, especially Christmas and Halloween. She delighted in hosting Christmas for her family. Booty also enjoyed dancing, walking and having lunch with her friends, card club and their parties, and family road trips to visit relatives. Booty took pleasure in crocheting sweaters, hats, and baby blankets for all of her grandchildren. Booty’s greatest passion in life was her family. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband of 62 years: Luther “Luke” Lageson; children: Gary (Debi) Lageson of Biwabik, John Lageson of Rural Aurora, Sandi (Dallas) Dubbin of Silver Bay, MN, Carol (Jim) Lammi of Embarrass, Karen (Craig Guzzo) Osberg of Two Harbors, and Rita (Tom) Indihar of McKinley; grandchildren: Jason (Tina Lehtinen) Lageson, Jennifer (David Kallio) Lageson, Andrea (Luke) Granmoe, Janelle (Jess) Kyte, Justin (Katie) Hipple, Paul (Jaime) Hipple, Melanie (Andrew) Roseth, Amanda Lammi, Jaclyn Lammi, Laura Lammi, Eric Osberg, Kent (Lyndsy Cardinal) Osberg, Brandon (Meagan) Trast, Brian Trast, and Larissa Johnson; Great-Grandchildren: Kaylah, McKenzi, Maddi, Braeden, Bode, Halle, Chase, Camryn, Chloe, Zara, Jaden, Gabrielle, Sage, Kale, Sawyer, Joshua, and Alex; Great-Great Grandchildren: Annabelle and Mason; two siblings: Sally Nelson of Ft. Myers, FL and Vernie (Kenny) Edberg of Belle Plaine, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Randy Osberg; daughter-in-law: Denise Lageson; sister: Audrey Dellwo; brother: Reggie Leonhardt; brothers-in-law: Richard Dellwo and Richard Nelson; and her parents.
