John H. Aho, 68, of Aurora died December 19, 2015 at the Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora. John was born on January 9, 1947 in Hibbing, MN. He grew up in Hibbing and Aurora. Following school, John entered the US Army serving his country during Vietnam. He had worked various jobs. Most recently was a custodian for the State of Minnesota Highway Department until his retirement after 19 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion in Aurora. John enjoyed deer hunting and taking trips to the casino, but John is most remembered as being an avid fisherman. Survivors include his two sisters: Helen (Ben) Shannon of Prior Lake, MN and Joanne (Butch) Ceglar of Aurora; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends: Pam and Dave. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Aho; step-son, Brian Lax; and his parents Howardine and Jack Asmund. Per John’s request no services will be held. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
