Funeral service for Thomas “Tupu” Lloyd Lesemann, 67, of Pike River, will be 10:30am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Virginia with Pastor Nathan Sager officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be in the East Pike Cemetery. He died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his residence. Thomas was born August 18, 1948 in Big Fork, MN to Elmer and Dorothy (Hamilton) Lesemann. He graduated from school in Embarrass prior to being drafted into the US Army. He served in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade as a paratrooper. Following his military service, he returned home to work at Erie Mining Company. On May 31, 1986, he married Debbra Maness. Tom retired from LTV Steel as a millwright in 2001, following the closure of the mine. He was also the owner of North Country Repo for 12 years and remained active in the woodworking industry as Lesemann and Sons. Tom was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and was a Life Member of The Timothy Robinson VFW Post in Hoyt Lakes. He enjoyed producing tongue and groove paneling, hunting and attending auctions. He especially enjoyed time with the grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Debi; children: Jim (Kristen) Lesemann of Proctor, Pat (Ashley) Lesemann of Britt, Travis (Stephanie Eckman ) Lesemann of Babbitt, Pamela Lesemann of Mounds View, Christina (Nels) Storm of Spring Hill, KS, Cassandra (Casey) Rogers of Virginia and Carissa (Jon) Ebnet of Mt. Iron; grandchildren: Joshua Ernst, Cash Storm, Jack and Maks Rogers, Nadine Ebnet and Molly Lesemann; siblings: Janet (John) McKeon, Ellen (Louis) Hitner, Patricia Lesemann all of Embarrass and Fred Lesemann of El Paso, TX; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Phyllis and Dorothy “Tiny” and his beloved daughter-in-law, Shelley Lesemann.
