James C. Davies

Davies, James C., 52, of Minneapolis, died Sat. Feb. 13, 2016 at North Residential Hospice. He was born Feb. 9, 1964 in Golden Valley, MN to Donald and Dorothy (Tell) Davies. Jim was a 1982 graduate of Robbinsdale High School, later attended North Hennepin Community College and North Hennepin Vo-Tech for carpentry. He worked as a bartender and waiter in the hospitality industry for several years prior to working as a self-employed carpenter. In 1991 he became a residential remodeling specialist. Survived by his father, Donald (Marlys) Davies, Ft. Myers; brother, Stephen (Olga) Davies, Chicago; sisters: Susann Lunderborg of Osseo and Jennifer (Mark) Kaplan, Maple Grove; step-sisters: JoAnne (Bruce) Gutknecht and Sandy (Greg) Varner; nieces and nephews: Gabe and Cassie Kaplan, Ashtin and Paige Lunderborg. Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy. Funeral Mass 10am Thursday Feb. 18 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, N. Mpls. (Emerson&Dowling). Visitation 5-7pm Wed. Feb. 17 at Historic Thomson-Dougherty (26th&Park) and one hour prior to mass at church. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope.
