Funeral Service for Carol Jean Urban, 87, of Aurora will be 11am Friday, February 26, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Carol died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at St. Raphael’s Health and Rehab in Eveleth, MN. Carol was born June 20, 1928 in Slayton, MN to Melville and Rhoda (Scabba) Frisvold. She attended Country School District #9 and later worked as a waitress. On October 15, 1950 she married Lyle Urban in Lake Crystal, MN. In 1957 the family moved to Aurora where they began to raise their family. Carol worked as a waitress at Ron’s Bakery in Aurora for 28 years. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and its women’s fellowship. Carol enjoyed crocheting, reading books and driving wherever she was needed. Survivors include her children: Lonnie (Carol) Urban of Palo, Orville (Terri) Urban of Biwabik, Neil (Charlotte) Urban of Temple, TX and Pamela Urban of Aurora; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters: Melda Burnette of Lake Crystal and Phyllis Splinter of Rapid City, SD; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; granddaughters: Loretta and Lila; sisters: Donna, Norma and Avis.
