A visitation for Cleo N. Cass, 87, of Gilbert, will be held from 2:00-4:00pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Estelline, South Dakota. Cleo died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Essentia Health – Virginia. Cleo was born November 16, 1928 in Bruce South Dakota to William and Eva Mae (Levitt) Taken. She attended country school in Dempster, SD and later married Ralph Cass in Roseau, MN on December 16, 1946. Cleo worked as a baker at the bakery in Warroad. In 1956 the couple moved to the Iron Range and in 1974 settled in Gilbert. She was a homemaker and a member of First Covenant Church in Virginia. Cleo enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Survivors include her children: Edward (Marilyn Dancer) Cass of Esko, David (Darlene Grovum) Cass of Texarkana, Arkansas, Daniel (Mary) Cass of Medina and Marlene (Ron) Mingo of Ramsey; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert (Jan) Cass of Marble; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph, siblings: Jay, Glenn, Dale and Darel Taken and Erna Cass.
