Funeral service for Naomi Ann Dangelo, 90, of Aurora, will be 10:30am Monday, April 11, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Aurora with Pastor Arthur Dale officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Naomi died unexpectedly Wednesday April 6, 2016 at her home. She was born April 2, 1926 in Money Creek, MN to Thomas and Ella (Nelson) Kingsley. Naomi was a graduate of Dover High School and later married Kenneth Sturgis on September 10, 1944. Following Kenneth’s service in WWII, they moved to the Iron Range in 1953 where they raised their family. In 1978 Kenneth died. Naomi returned to Eveleth Technical College where she received her degree to work in social services. Following her schooling, she began working for St. Louis County as a social worker. On May 5, 1984 she married Edward Dangelo. She retired in June 1990. Naomi was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, its WELCA and served on the interchurch committee. She was also a member of the Horticulture Society, the Eastern Star and the Walkie Talkies. In her earlier years she lobbied for the Displaced Homemakers at the state level. Naomi enjoyed time spent with family and had a passion for gardening. Survivors include her children: Dean (Esther) Sturgis of Richfield, Beverly (Dave Beran) Sturgis of Duluth, Darryl (Sara) Sturgis of Chaska, William (Martha) Sturgis of Hoyt Lakes and Mark (Sue) Sturgis of Hastings; 13 grandchildren: Michael, Kenneth, Thomas, Christa, Kathryn, Margaret, Matthew, Eric, Sarah, Christina, Aimee, Molly and Christopher; numerous great grandchildren and step grandchildren; sister, Violet Christensen of Aurora; many nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ella; husbands, Kenneth and Edward; son, David; siblings: Allen, Erwin “Bud” and Lavonne
