Funeral service for Lorraine Mabel Olson, 82, of Rosemount, formerly of Aurora, will be 11am Friday, July 8, 2016 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Lorraine died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at her home in Rosemount. Lorraine was born July 27, 1933 in Boy River, Minnesota to Frank and Vernetta (Taylor) Michaud. On May 16, 1952 she married Fred Olson. While living in Aurora, Lorraine worked as a dietary aide at the White Community Hospital. Shortly after Fred’s death in 1986, Lorraine moved to Rosemount to be near family. There, she worked as a child care provider for many years with her daughter, Janice. Lorraine was a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Women of the Moose in Aurora. Currently she was a member of Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley and the Rosemount American Legion Auxiliary. Lorraine enjoyed time spent with family, cooking, camping and traveling. Survivors include her children: Barb (Bruce) Wuest of Monticello, Nancy (Charles) Johnson of Eveleth, Janice (Kris) Olson of Rosemount and Mark (Trish) Olson of Rochester; grandchildren: Teri, Sheri, Nicole, Steph, Heather, Zach, Ryan, Brittany and Cory; great grandchildren: Persephoney, Arianna, Koen, Joey, Zach and Paige; siblings: Ellen (Jim) Rimmel, Rosemary Faveau and Vernon “Smokey” (Teri) Michaud; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vernetta; husband, Fred; siblings: Dick, David, Bob, Delbert, Grace and one in infancy.
