Memorial Mass for Clayton Edward Jackson, 56, of Biwabik, will be 10am Monday, August 1, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. Peter Lambert as celebrant. Friends may gather one hour prior to the mass at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Clay died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his home. Clay was born January 12, 1960 in Virginia, Minnesota to Mark and Darlene (Leppanen) Jackson. Clay attended Biwabik High School and in 1978 began working for Erie Mining Company. Later, he joined the Laborers Union and retired as a member of Local 1097. For several years he worked as a laborer for Lakehead Constructors and throughout his life, he worked at the family hardware, heating and sheet metal business. Clay had a strong work ethic and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He was especially devoted to his family. He loved his daughter Ariel and was proud of her accomplishments and was a dedicated son to his parents. Clay was a member of the Biwabik Area Civic Association, the Parks Committee and a life member of the NRA. He frequently volunteered at the Gilbert Food Shelf and was always willing to socialize with friends and locals in town. Clay is survived by his daughter, Ariel (Dustin Krech) Kainu of Duluth; parents, Mark and Darlene Jackson of Biwabik; brother, Curt (Kathy) Jackson of Biwabik; sister, Cheryl (Dale) Olson of Biwabik Twp.; nieces and nephews: Heather Dimich-Jackson of Biwabik, Deanna and Tommy Kingsley of Hoyt Lakes, Josh and Tiffany Olson of Biwabik Twp., Jordan and Jessica Olson of Proctor; nine great nieces and nephews who loved him. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Samuel Dimich-Jackson.
