Funeral Mass for Julia Trunzo, 95, of Gilbert, will be 10am Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Julia died Friday, August 19, 2016 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Mt. Iron, MN. Julia was born February 2, 1921 in Leonidas, MN to Paul and Angela ( Prosenc) Sersha. Following her schooling, she married Anthony Trunzo on November 5, 1938 in Eveleth. They moved to Gilbert in 1955. Julia worked as a homemaker and as seamstress for the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Gilbert. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and sang in the church choir, the George and Mark Klobuchar VFW Auxiliary, the Gilbert Senior Citizens and the KSKJ Lodge of Eveleth. She enjoyed playing the harmonica and listening and dancing to polka music. Survivors include her children: Donald (Donna) Trunzo of Mt. Iron, Jerry Trunzo (Linda Tyssen) of Gilbert, John (Judie) Trunzo of Virginia, Judith (Hank Snodgrass) Trunzo of Mohave Valley, AZ, Debra (Bruce) Grewcock of Omaha, NE, Denise (Rune) Holm of Spring Hill, TN and Rodney (Jill) Trunzo of Ramsey, MN; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Julie) Sersha of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Tami and Ryan; siblings: John in WWII, Molly, Mary, Steve and Angela; daughter-in-law, Laurie Trunzo.
