Memorial service for Andrew “Andy” Jacobson, 68, of Buhl and Palo will be 11 am Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Palo Congregational Church with Pastor Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Rauha Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Andy died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. Andy was born on July 26, 1948 to Andrew and Bertha (Davis) Jacobson in Gary, IN. He grew up and attended school in Gary, IN. Following school, he went to work for Job Corps until becoming employed by US Steel in Gary, IN. Andy was united in marriage to Janice Lee Pilnock for 33 years until her death. Following his retirement after 35 years of service from US Steel in 2003, Andy moved to Buhl. He worked maintenance jobs at Days Inn in Eveleth, Irongate in Aurora and currently for Greenview in Anchors Lake – south of Eveleth. On October 19, 2005, Andy married Gloria Curfman. The couple made their home in Palo. Andy enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, music, archery and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Palo Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; sons: Randy and Andrew Jacobson both of Buhl, Kevin (Amy) Curfman of Palo, and Kyle (Brenda) Curfman of Peters Creek, AK; grandchildren: Andrew Brian, Emma, and Ella Jacobson, Audrey, Zachary, and Cody Curfman, David Tedman, and Steven Solkela. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice; and his parents.
