Liisa A. Kauppinen

Funeral services for Liisa Annikki Kauppinen, 93, of Markham will be 10:30 am Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Palo with Pastor Eric Thiele officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Markham Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Liisa died Wednesday, December 07, 2016 at the Lakewood Health Center in Baudette. She was born on March 3, 1923 to Arvi and Riikka (Taipale) Kinnunen in Pihtipudas, Finland. She was united in marriage to Edwin Kauppinen and was a homemaker. Liisa also worked as a nurses aid at White Community Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Palo. Survivors include her daughter: Riitta (Scott) Glass of Williams, MN; a foster granddaughter: Marlana Mullin; and nieces and nephews in Finland. She was preceded in death by his husband, Edwin; a brother, Ahti; and two sisters, Maija and Heta.
