Memorial mass for Robert John Miklausich, 90, of Aurora will be 10 am Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Father Peter Lambert celebrating. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Military honors accorded by the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Bob died Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Silver Bay. Bob was born on November 4, 1926 to Ignac and Johanna (Starin) Miklausich in Biwabik, the youngest of eleven children. He grew up in the Bangor area near Biwabik and attended Biwabik High School, Class of 1944. Following high school, Bob enlisted into US Navy, serving in Okinawa as a carpenter third class. Upon his honorable discharge Bob was employed by Erie Mining Company until he retired in 1988 as assistance superintendent of mining. Bob was united in marriage to Theresa Gillach on November 26, 1959 in Aurora. He was a member of the Aurora American Legion, the Hoyt Lakes VFW, American Yugoslav Club, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife: Theresa; three sons: Joseph Miklausich of Minneapolis, John (Joyce) Miklausich of Duluth and James (Jill) Miklausich of Minneapolis; two grandsons: Eric Miklausich and Brandon Anderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his ten siblings and his parents.
