Memorial Mass for Charles Frank Zupancich, 68, of Aurora, will be 11am Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tower with Fr. Drew Braun as celebrant. Friends may gather one hour prior to the mass at church. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Chuck died suddenly on Monday, May 29, 2017 in Duluth as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born February 27, 1949 in Ely, Minnesota to Albert “Beanie” and Margaret (Owen) Zupancich. He was raised in Ely until the family moved to Tower in 1963. Chuck was a 1967 graduate of Tower-Soudan High School. Following high school he attended Bemidji State University and earned a degree in accounting. He worked for the family grocery store and later married Constance “Connie” Duscha on October 19, 1975. The couple resided and raised their family in Aurora. He owned and operated Zups Grocery in Aurora until his retirement in 2008. Family was of utmost importance to Chuck; especially his grandchildren who he remained an active part in their lives by attending their sporting events or just spending time with them. He was also an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching “his” Cubs win the World Series. He also enjoyed cutting wood and being a friend to many. Survivors include his wife, Connie; children: Sarah of Aurora and Matt (Ashlee) of Tower; mother, Margaret Zupancich of Tower; grandchildren: Beau, Brady, Grant, Kaycee and Daniel; siblings: Al Zupancich of Eveleth and Susie (Jerry) Chiabotti of Tower; mother-in-law, Donna Duscha of St. Michael and several nieces, nephews and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Beanie (1998) and his father-in-law, Norm. “Well done, Good and Faithful Servant”
