After a brief battle with brain cancer, Clarice has gone home to be with the Lord. She passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora, Minnesota. She was a loving wife to Paul for 53 years and a wonderful mother, doting grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She taught elementary school for 33 years and upon retiring started spending her winters in Mission, TX and her summers in Hoyt Lakes and at the cabin on Whiteface Reservoir. She loved to sew, quilt and paint during retirement and especially enjoyed traveling. She also loved attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women at Queen of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed being part of the Hoyt Lakes Flower Club. She is survived by her husband, Paul; Daughters Ann Edlund (Joe) and Patty Stuber (Steve); Grandmother to Lauren, Erin, Samantha, Danielle and Morgan; Sister to Betty Gunter, Dorothy Gunter, Laverne Gunter (Joanne), Diane Bredeson (Mike), Tom Gunter (Sandy); Sister-in-law to Alan Mugge (Linda) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alice Gunter, in-laws Hjalmer and Isabel Forlan, sister-in-law Judy Mugge and brother-in-law Jim Bredeson. Thank you to the medical staff at Mission Regional Medical Center and Northern Pines Hospital in Aurora for their kindness and compassion. Memorial Mass will be 11am Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Peter Lambert as celebrant. Friends may gather one hour prior to the mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the inurnment. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
