Jean Nellis

Jean Adair (Dubovich) Nellis Age 71, of Aurora, passed away July 1, 2017. Known as Jeani to friends and family, she was born on March 23, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MN. The daughter of Steve & Pearle Dubovich, she was a 1964 graduate of Greenway High School in Coleraine. Jeani loved to cook, and was very gourmet in her approach. That did not stop her though from creating kids’ favorites including Dorito crusted chicken and turkey taco burgers. She was very well versed in proper etiquette and her friends & family were fortunate for her well wishes and thoughtfulness. She had a skill for drawing, and left her family with some beautiful keepsakes. Jeani was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was president from 1974 to 1975. Jeani had intense love for her family and dedicated her life to raising her kids. She exemplified all of the great qualities of being mom and wife. She helped Arnie keep the summer roofing business organized behind the scenes and was deeply committed to Arnie, carrying on the principles that meant so much to both of them. She is preceded in death by her husband Arnold, and parents Steve & Pearle Dubovich. She is survived by her three sons, Troy Nellis of St. Cloud, Grant (Maria) Nellis of Delano, Chad (Kayla) Nellis of Rice; seven grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Hannah, Ben, Addison, Ellery & Riley; and siblings John (Mary) Dubovich of Grand Rapids, Dick (Terri) Dubovich of Anoka, MN, Buni (Randy) Sims of Apple Valley MN, Kim (Tom) Lemke of Ogden, UT, Alana (Gene) Nelson of Litchfield, MN and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
